If you have a hankering for golf, you don’t have to go very far to satisfy it in Bluffton. In fact, you don’t even need to cross the bridge to Hilton Head Island. Several private communities in the Bluffton area list impressive golf courses among their amenities. But if you don’t belong to a club in one of those communities, Bluffton’s public courses offer plenty of challenge for any duffer. All but one of Bluffton’s public courses are located on or near Hwy 278 (Fording Island Road). Traveling east to west from the Hilton Head bridge, they include:

Old South Golf Links, 837-7155
This superb Clyde Johnston design is located across from the entrance to Moss Creek Plantation, on Buckingham Plantation Drive. It features seven marshfront holes on it’s par 72, championship layout, plus a restaurant and a golf shop. The renowned Peter Croker Golf Academy is now located here. Old South also offers club repair and tournament services.

Executive Golf Club, 837-6400
Hilton Head's most affordable golf option (Promotional rates starting at $14.00), and only executive length golf course (6 par 3's and 3 par 4's). Walk or Ride, Casual Dress. Hilton Head National, 837-5900
This highly rated Gary Player and Bobby Weed 27-hole signature golf course is located on Hwy 278 about one mile from the bridge to Hilton Head. This course was designed specifically for public play. It features a full golf shop, restaurant, practice facility and lessons by appointment.

Old Carolina Golf Club, 785-6363
This Clyde Johnston designed course plays no second fiddle to its sister course, Old South Golf Club. Located one half mile down Buck Island Road (off Hwy 278) on what use to be Roller’s horse farm, it offers a full-service golf shop and restaurant within the 15,000 square foot farm house. Features also include a driving range, putting and chipping areas, along with handicapping services, lessons and club repairs.

Eagle’s Point Golf Club, 757-5900
This is our newest course in Bluffton. Davis Love designed this course located on Hwy 278 within the gates of the Eagle’s Point community. This is a championship layout and offers full-service amenities and features standard to quality clubhouses.

Rose Hill Country Club, 757-2160
This golf course for the Rose Hill Plantation community still accepts reservations for public play. It sports 27 championship holes, a complete golf shop, practice facilities, lessons and a fine restaurant.

Island West Golf Course, 815-6660
This Fuzzy Zoeller designed course is located on Hwy 278 between Rose Hill and Sun City. It features complete practice facilities, a well-stocked golf shop, a restaurant and a lounge.

Okatie Creek Golf Club, 705-4653
This Mark McCumber designed layout is located within Sun City Hilton Head’s gates. It is open for public play. It features a complete golf shop, spacious practice facilities, restaurant and lounge. Lessons are available by appointment.

Pintail Creek Golf Club, 784-2426
This 18 hole championship course is located south of Hardeeville on Hwy 17, about 10 miles from Bluffton. It has a golf shop, driving range, club rental and repair.

Crescent Pointe Golf Club, 706-2600
This Arnold Palmer signature course is located just 3 miles west of the Bridge. This is the only public course with Arnold’s name on it.
